Technical Exercise
At some point during the past few years, my sense of self was altered. The shift was dramatic. I suddenly had an awareness that the "me" experiencing life was more complex than just my ego. Before this, I'd occasionally come across Eckhart Tolle videos that never quite made sense. After? It was like finally understanding a language I'd been hearing all along.
This newfound awareness, while fascinating, created practical challenges. As someone recovering from a mental medical event, my memory struggled with organizing all these new insights. I couldn't easily track which ideas belonged to which traditions or remember which gurus offered which perspectives. Integrating these concepts into daily life became a beautiful but sometimes overwhelming journey.
I was fortunate to meet the people behind EARTHwise.games. They shared frameworks that helped me explore these new perceptions while staying grounded in practical understanding. The nature of consciousness, future human potential, hopes for humanity as a whole, the notion of beneficent Artificial General Intelligence... those were many of the concepts we noodle over to this day.
Working with AI presented an intriguing way of thinking about the mind. Meta-thought experiments and artificial cortex functionality are things to consider now. Marko Post, developer of Hyperworlds at Novaonmars.com, has been thinking about the development of what he calls "AI Cortexes"—essentially characters with their own decision-making frameworks.
He and I have been working with Howard Rose, formerly of Firsthand.com on various thinking machine ideas. We went from developing a story-weaving memory unit agent designed to help people record and relive their own precious moments for generations to come, to something more practical. Frontier Realms is an initiative to design message platforms that look, act, and feel more like humans in the right ways only. It’s aimed at health messaging for individuals and groups where the outcomes are as consequential as those of any space program where the astronauts’ health is mission critical.
Getting back to my spiritual awakening: I've started designing a system that can cross-reference concepts, track sources, identify patterns across traditions, and serve as my personal "lore master" despite my lack of coding expertise. This is sort of a mini-muse concept, and I’m attempting to execute this using currently available LLM and AI enhanced vibe code applications.
This is about building a helpful companion for this journey—a practical tool that can organize complex information in a way that resonates with my particular perspective and needs. The goal is to create a reference system that helps me connect dots between different wisdom traditions while maintaining their unique contexts.
As this project develops, I'll share what works, what challenges arise, and how these AI systems might serve others on similar paths. If you're interested in the intersection of technology and personal growth—whether you've had your own unexpected spiritual experiences or you're simply curious about thoughtful applications of AI—I hope you'll find something valuable in these updates.
I'm excited to see where this leads, and I welcome you to join me on this humble exploration of consciousness and vibe code mishaps.
